It’s interesting to notice the trends in home design. Obviously, kitchens and baths receive the most attention. Go to house plans at www.slhouseplans.com to find nearly 1,000 plans designed for today. Study the floor plans and imagine really living within the configuration of each of these rooms. You can’t help but notice how most architects and designers place the laundry near the kitchen, but lifestyles are changing. Who needs a real laundry room anymore? After all, clothes are put-on and taken-off in the bedrooms not the kitchen. Get creative with this space, move the washer and dryer and ironing board to the master suite or near the other bedrooms in the house. It’s just more logical to have the laundry room near the laundry! Today’s plans (especially designs from Southern Living) provide lots of storage space in and around bedrooms, so carve out a room for the “new and improved” stackable in the master area and/or simply move the “new and improved” laundry room upstairs. And as for the “neat” space next to the kitchen…Forget washing and folding, how ‘bout using the space for the dirty job of organizing and paying bills!

Southern Living House Plans - http://www.slhouseplans.com - has an impressive collection of unique house plans, ranging from Multi-Unit Home Plans, Beach/Coastal Home Plans, small house plans, southern home plans, luxury home plans, and country home plans to Bungalow Home Plans and Traditional Home Plans.
